Luxury bakery chain - Laurent Boulangerie Patisserie

The Laurent bakery chain has been around for years. Although they are no Laduree, this was the first place that made me fall in love with macarons before they came into vogue.

Apart from macaron the other items I like are the croissant (plenty of butter - yummm), quiche and various cakes.

Boulangerie filled with bread, quiche and sandwiches

Luckily Laurent's menu has not changed much over the years so it is easy to go back and try some favourites as well as for some eye candy.

Full sized cakes ready to make someone happy

Plenty of full-sized cakes are always on display ready for the unsuspecting to dive in on impulse.

Single size cakes and tarts for sharing all with myself

Fortunately they have plenty of single sized cakes and tarts available allowing me to indulge without the guilt. A few of my favourites are the Trio (second from the left) containg three layers of white, milk and dark chocolate mousse. The lemon tart perfectly sour lemon custard filled patisserie. And finally Charlotte aux Fraises (second from the right) sponge cake with a strawberry mousse that is creamy and yet tastes hauntingly like strawberry jam. LOVE!

Macaron

Of course the macaron selection. Not as good as the passionfruit macaron from Cafe Vue but still requires it's tribute.
